The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate’s employment at the University.  The University recently temporarily varied its Enterprise Agreement.  Please be advised that the salary range, along with other conditions associated with this position, may change in accordance with the variation to the Enterprise Agreement.

Fixed-term appointment available until December 2021.

The Faculty of Sciences supports the learning and teaching, research and business operations of its four schools, Centres and Institutes on the North Terrace, Waite and Roseworthy Campuses.

Working under general direction, the Research Technical Officer is responsible for providing ‘hands-on’ research technical support for a range of activities, including the effective operation of the Molecular Life Science store facility on the North terrace campus. The incumbent will actively be involved in the creation of an asset register for the faculty, and will be supporting research laboratories and general infrastructure projects.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in equipment, laboratory and facilities maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience in laboratory-based research and understanding of the needs of active research groups
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team with a strong customer service focus with sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to use judgement to organise work, establish priorities and successfully complete tasks within limited time constraints
  • Understanding of HSW requirements, with demonstrated experience in application of HSW in a work environment
